Season 6 of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show for 2021 has begun. During the course of the show, 22 selected housemates consisting of 11 men and 11 women will compete for a grand prize of N95 million. The show is expected to run for 72 days, according to the sponsors of the reality TV show for season 6.
During this time, each housemate is required to follow the house rules in order to avoid being disqualified from the show. This has prompted the editors of this website to review the current rules governing Big Brother Naija housemates. Every week, a housemate will be evicted based on popularity votes.
Big Brother Naija 2021 Rules and Regulations
Here are some of the rules we reviewed to guide housemates during their stay in the Big Brother Naija house.
Housemates must respect the House and their fellow contestants at all times.
The Housemates will have no contact with the outside world and will be kept busy by Big Brother’s various tasks and challenges. Being in such close quarters with a house full of strangers can be difficult, and Big Brother has established ground rules that must be followed.
Big Brother has complete control over everything that happens in the house, and he never discusses anything that happens outside of the house with anyone in the house.
The Housemates are being filmed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and their microphones must be turned on at all times. Viewers must be able to hear all conversations at all times and are not permitted to whisper or cover their mouths while conversing with other Housemates. They are also forbidden from disclosing the location of the cameras and microphones.
Diary Sessions are one of the most important aspects of the show’s success, and they are required. When a Housemate is summoned to the Diary Room, they must drop everything they are doing and enter. Failure to comply will result in a fine, a “strike,” or worse. Housemates may enter the Diary Room at any time of day or night. In the Diary Room, sunglasses and hats are not permitted. When the Diary Room is not in use, the door is locked, and no one is permitted to enter the room if it is occupied.
Important to note:
Diary Sessions and Nominations are required, and Housemates must provide valid reasons for nominating another Housemate. Big Brother reserves the right to take his time answering questions, but he will always respond. Personal questions will not be entertained by Big Brother. What happens in the Diary Room remains in the Diary Room, and Housemates are not permitted to discuss anything that occurs in the Diary Room. Events such as Head of House Tasks are exceptions to this rule.
Nominations are significant, and Housemates are not permitted to discuss their nominations with anyone other than Big Brother. If a Housemate engages in such behavior, it will be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to influence others. They are not permitted to communicate with one another through hints, signs, symbols, or written notes. Housemates are not permitted to form any alliances or plots to bring down their fellow Housemates. Communication in Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, or any other local language other than English is not permitted in the house.
Housemates are not permitted to strike, intimidate, threaten, or act in any way that could be interpreted as violent towards their fellow Housemates. This could result in an instant disqualification.

Big Brother will notify the Housemates that the Storage Room is now open, and the Head of House will go there to retrieve whatever Big Brother has placed there for the Housemates’ weekly needs.
